ZDR3

Squarespace for Non-Profits

Project Overview

Zoological Disaster Response, Rescue, and Recovery helps zoos, aquariums and other animal facilities prepare for and recover from disasters. We partnered with ZDR3 to rethink its website, using Squarespace for Non-profits to develop a Resource Hub for the specialized knowledge behind its work.

The Problem

The site needed to serve people discovering ZDR3, facilities looking for support, potential donors and partners seeking technical information. General visitors needed an introduction they could absorb quickly. Specialists needed access to essential detail. Organizing both experiences was central to moving a long-running website effort forward.

The Solution

We worked with ZDR3’s leadership to organize the content and build the new site in Squarespace. The design brings the mission, network, response stories and ways to get involved into a connected experience. For the Resource Hub, we developed an index of responder capabilities with individual pages, alongside pages organized by incident type. Regular reviews helped balance accessible top-level pages with the depth partners need.

Outcome

The partnership has produced a substantial website build and a structure for the Resource Hub. Content review and refinement are continuing, with the team working toward a public experience that explains ZDR3’s mission and preserves the practical detail its partners rely on.
