Heather Ross

Squarespace for eCommerce

Project Overview

Heather Ross is an illustrator, author and fabric designer. After supporting earlier website updates, we worked with her on a larger Squarespace project for the launch of Sailcloth: a refreshed storefront that introduces the fabrics alongside ideas for what to make with them.

The Problem

The collection needed an experience that helped customers understand the fabric, explore prints and coordinating colors, and imagine it in their homes. Heather also wanted projects and patterns to become an ongoing part of the site. The work needed to connect shopping with the inspiration behind her designs.

The Solution

Working with Heather and her design collaborator, Brooke Reynolds, we implemented a refreshed homepage, navigation, category pages and product layouts. Sailcloth product pages bring together fabric information, care instructions, coordinating fabrics and sample projects. We also built Projects and Patterns, with photography, instructions, fabric requirements and links to Heather’s downloads or patterns from other makers.

Outcome

The refreshed site went live in September 2026 with the Sailcloth storefront and a dedicated library of sewing inspiration. Visitors can browse fabrics, explore projects and find information to begin making. Product and content refinements continued after launch.
